In honor of National Blood Donor Month, the 14th Combat Support Hospital recently hosted an Armed Services Blood Program, and their motto, "First to care," really shone through. One of the first donors of the drive was Col. William Drennon, commander of the hospital, and it was a great indication of how the day would progress.

Since the Fort Benning Blood Donor Center opened its doors, many donors have come through to ensure service men and women sacrificing for our country can continue in the event of an injury. In 2010, the blood donor center staff collected hundreds of units of blood from many donors, and on Jan. 28, 2011, those dedicated donors received well deserved recognition.
